- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup cooking oil
- 1 egg, separated
- 1 tbsp dry active yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- All-purpose flour (approx 3 and ½ cups)
- 100 g Feta cheese
- ½ stick butter, in room temperature
Heat 1 cup of whole milk and sugar mixture until lukewarm. Sprinkle active yeast and rest in a warm place for about 15-20 minutes to rise. Combine rest of the ingredients; egg white, salt, oil and flour in a medium bowl. Add milk mixture to flour mixture and knead it strongly.
Divide the dough into 8 balls. Roll each ball one by one as big as a plate. Spread 1 tsp butter on each rolled dough evenly but not the last one. Place them on top of each other like a tower and roll them all together gently for about 25-27 inch.
Cut dough into 12 wedges. Place 1 tsp crumbled feta cheese (or whatever cheese you like. I used cream cheese) at wide end of wedge and to shape rolls, begin at wide end of each edge and roll toward the point. Place point sides down, 2 to 3 inches apart on prepared baking sheet.
Brush them with egg yolk. Bake in 350 preheated oven until golden brown. Makes 12 rolls.
