Izgara Kofte (Turkish grilled meatballs)
Köfte is ground meat (usually lamb) mixed with crumbled bread, minced onions and spices, shaped into little oval or round patties and cooked.
The most common version of the dish is Izgara Köfte, grilled köfte, usually garnished with sliced onions, chopped parsley and a sprinkle of paprika, and served with yogurt and fresh Turkish flat bread.
A good drink to get with izgara köfte is traditional Turkish drink “ayran” (yogurt whisked with water and a pinch of salt).
Shish köfte is a different köfte is threatened a flat skewer (shish) and grilled.
You can serve kofte with;
1 Large onion, grated
3 tbsp Italian style bread crumbs
1 lbs Ground Meat (lamb/Low Fat)
A handful flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
½ tsp paprika
1 Tablespoon Oil
In a medium mixing bowl, combine ground meat, bread crumbs (or you can use 2 slices of white bread after you soaked and squeezed them into water), grated onion, salt, black pepper and paprika. Blend thoroughly. Knead for 5 minutes.
Divide into egg sized pieces. Shape into oval or round patties firmly. Smooth surface of patties. Place them on greased and prepared grill. Brush with oil. Grill over charcoal until completely cooked both sides. Serve immediately.

1 adet soğan, rendelenmiş
2 dilim bayat ekmek içi yahut
3 çorba k. Hazır ufalanmış ekmek
Karıştırma kabına, kıyma, rendelenmiş soğan, ıslatılıp sıkılmış bayat ekmek içi, tuz, karabiber ve kıyılmış maydanozu alıp güzelce yoğurun. Yumurta büyüklüğünde parçalara ayırıp oval yahut yuvarlak şekil verin.
Izgarada kurutmadan pişirin. Servis tabağına alarak patates kızartması, yeşillikler, ızgarada pişirilmiş domates dilimleri ve yeşil biberlerle servis edin.
